Staff
Paul Kuerbis,
Director 
Paul received his BA in Biology from St. Mary's College (California),
his Masters in Zoology from UCLA, and his Ph.D. in science education from
the University of California, Berkeley. He has taught science at the middle,
high school, and community college levels, and has taught biology and
integrated science courses at Colorado College. Currently he serves as
the Director of the Crown Teaching and Learning Center, the Colleges
center for faculty development and is also the Director of the Colket
Student Learning Center .
Patti Spoelman, Learning
Commons Office Coordinator
Patti, a Colorado College staff member since 1991, recently assumed
the duties of office coordinator for the Learning Commons. In this role,
Patti provides support for the Crown Faculty and Colket Student Learning
Centers and the Disability Services program. Patti coordinates alternate
format and notetaking services for students with disabilities, as well
as assisting students with other disability-related issues.

Kyle Torke,
Colket Fellow in Reading and Rhetoric
Kyle Torke graduated from Grinnell College with a degree in Anthropology
in 1988 and moved on for an MA/PhD in English at the University of Denver
(1994). He has taught at Elon University in North Carolina and The United
States Air Force Academy. He is also a Visiting Associate Professor in
the English Department at Colorado College. Dr. Torke teaches literature,
creative writing, and writing classess and has published books of poetry
and fiction.
