BRYAN'S JOURNAL ENTRIES October 2005, from San José, Costa Rica "My view of Cahuita changed when I visited again. The ACM placed me with an incredible host family, and I came to understand the people and the region. My perspective has evolved into a more descriptive picture of Cahuita: what it means to its people, and now what it means to me." "I do enjoy having class for only an hour and a half on Fridays, though. Even so, I MISS THE BLOCK PLAN!" "In Tokyo there is always something to do at every hour of the day or night. However, in Kyoto, every store, restaurant, or attraction seemed to close early and open late." "Tokyo reminds me of New York, but with much cleaner streets and friendlier people during rush hour. “I Love New Tokyo” signs can be seen all over this dynamic city." February 2005, from Prague, Czech Republic "Before going to Czech Republic, I ... read an article on Prague ... The article mentioned that Prague was never really bombed during World War II because Hitler ordered that it would serve as a museum of an extinct race. It explained the centuries-old buildings, but I overlooked the fact that the country and its people were still hit hard." |
