CC Blocks Abroad
A block abroad during the regular academic year is an incredible opportunity for faculty and students to investigate and research a topic from multiple perspectives, while being away from campus. However, designing, planning and implementing a course abroad indeed adds a tremendous amount of extra work to be taken care of. International Programs appreciates the extra length faculty go to in order to offer a block abroad and we will help you as much as possible. Feel free to call on us for support and advice. We can suggest names of faculty who have been taking students abroad for a block or two and who are willing to share their experiences. We hope the Faculty Guide to Short-term Programs Abroad will be a help in getting started. The guide is a work in progress and if you think important information is missing, please let us know. The Guide is divided into 3 sections. Please refer to the following for more specific information.
More and more, faculty use PROWL as a preparation and teaching tool for an on campus block. The same opportunity is available for blocks abroad. In order to make your task simpler International Programs post student forms and other important information students need to respond to before they can travel abroad on a CC course. Please call 227-8282 to find out more about how. Below are some links to important documents: Student forms for a block abroad course:

"As the world becomes more deeply connected, intercultural understanding becomes more and more important. Each of us is truly a citizen of the world, not just of our own country. Actively encouraging diversity and expanding students' global understanding is a valued part of the CC experience." President Richard Celeste
