Indigenous Religious Traditions

Indigenous Religious Traditions
Students in Bruce Coriell’s Indigenous Religious Traditions course recently traveled to South Dakota to spend a week with the Lakota Indians. Back on campus, one group built a sweat lodge to illustrate how culture, religion, and cross-culture are intertwined in a web of life, central to the Lakota concept of unity. Students’ quotes are threaded throughout the lodge, highlighting the class’s unity through their unique experiences. Photo by Heather Ezell '14.
