Omar Offendum

Omar Offendum
Hip-hop artist Omar Offendum brought a full house to its feet during a recent First Mondays performance. Offendum, who was born in Saudi Arabia to Syrian parents and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, uses music to raise awareness of social and political issues. The performance was part of CC’s yearlong “Cross-Currents: Exploring Tradition and Change in the Islamic World” program, a far-reaching series of exhibitions, performances, films, lectures, and events focusing on tradition and change in the Islamic world.
