Benefit Plan Options


Colorado College offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to meet the changing needs of our employees.

Health -

Choice of a Point of Service (POS) or a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).

Dental -

Dental Preferred Option (DPO) plan, which provides preventative, diagnostic, basic restorative, major restorative and dependent child orthodontic services.

Vision -

Plan offers a complete vision eye exam and eyeglass frames and lenses, or contact lenses, once every 12 months.

Flexible Spending Accounts -

Offers the ability to set aside pretax dollars to pay for many out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses.

Retirement Plan -

College offers a 403(b) plan through TIAA-CREF. Employees are eligible after one year of service and contribute 5% of base salary. Upon participation the College contributes 9.3% of base salary.

Supplemental Retirement Plan -

This voluntary 403(b) plan enables you to set aside additional savings on a tax-deferred basis.

Basic Life Insurance -

College covers you at one and one-half times your annual salary rounded to the next multiple of $1000 dollars if not already such a multiple.

Optional Life Insurance -

An election in the amount of up to five times your annual salary rounded to the next multiple of $1000 dollars.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment -

College sponsored coverage at the same level as the basic life insurance.

Optional Personal Accident Insurance -

Coverage available for employee only or family coverage, choice levels of $10,000 - $500,000.

Dependent Life Insurance -

Choice of two plan options covering your spouse and/or children.

Short-Term Disability -

Provides up to 6 months of income if you become disabled and are unable to work.

Long-Term Disability -

Provides up to 60% of your monthly base salary if you are totally disabled beyond 6 months.

Long-Term Care -

Helps defray nursing home or home health care costs. Coverage includes provisions for a spouse and other relatives.

Tuition Assistance -

After one year of service this program may cover up to full tuition costs for a maximum of two courses per fiscal year for job related education and training.

Tuition Remission at Colorado College -

After five or more years of service, dependent children of full-time staff have an opportunity to receive remission of tuition for up to four years. Spouses of full-time staff are also eligible after one year of service for tuition remission.

Tuition Remission at Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) -

After five or more years of service, dependent children of full-time staff may be eligible for up to full tuition remission at schools at ACM institutions.
