Name: Joseph Andrew Veres Dorm: I currently live in the John Lord Knight Apartments, but I have also lived in the Elbert House, Mathias, Loomis, Slocum, Ticknor, and Haskell. (including summer residence) Major/Minor: I am a Mathematical Economics major with a minor in Educational Studies.
Scholarships: I am a proud representative of the Johnson Foundation Scholarship which was awarded to me after graduation of my senior year in high school which blesses me with a four year full ride gift.
Work Study Job: I work at the Worner Desk during the school year and I work for Summer Conferences during the summer.
Extracurricular Activities: I have been involved with SOMOS, Asian American Student Union, MOSAIC, and have assisted admissions with minority recruitment.
Favorite Professor and why: Bill Scott for sure because I have never met someone so knowledgable and passionate about teaching mathematics to younger children.
Best thing at Wooglins: Um....CHICKEN QUESADILLAS!
Who is your CC "Hero" and why: Hands down, I give this one to my sister, Natalie Veres, Class of 2006. No matter how tired or frustrated she got with school, she still managed to stay involved in every aspect of CC while making others smile.
Favorite aspect of life at CC: My favorite aspect of life at CC is the many opportunities I have to stay involved working with the community through extracirrucular activies and community service.

Study Abroad Programs: I haven't studied abroad just yet, but I plan to student teach under the Urban Education Program in Chicago, IL. Community Service: I have participated in North Boys Mentoring at North Middle School, East Middle School ESL Tutoring, Mighty Math Tutoring at Horace Mann Middle School, and Fox Meadows Middle School Mentoring. Best Block Break Trip: My best block break trip by far was my trip to New Orleans, LA. I helped the victims of Hurricane Katrina which has a huge impact on my life.
Hobbies: I love SPORTS - playing, watching, and working out! I enjoy music including singing and dancing. I like school, reading, and writing. Spending time with friends and family are necessary for me. And I enjoy helping others.
