Learning to Give, Giving to Learn
November 2-6, 2009

What is Annual Giving Week all about?
Annual giving week is aimed at raising awareness among CC students about the importance
of philanthropy and, in particular, of supporting the college. The week-long series of events
educates students about the college's budget, how tuition dollars are spent, and the funding
sources that bridge the gap between tuition and actual expenses. Students will discuss the
value of philanthropy, learn how to fundraise for specific CC projects for which they have a
passion, and participate in a "thank-you" project.

and how you can help sustain the unique intellectual adventure for others
once you join the ranks of alumni.

Monday, November 2 -- The Root of all Money: Financial Aid, Tuition, Endowment, and Giving
12 noon to 1:30 p.m., McHugh Commons
A presentation and discussion with Steve Elder, Vice President for Advancement, Lyrae Williams, Director of Budget, and Jim Swanson, Director of Financial Aid.

Tuesday, November 3 -- Show Me the Money
12 noon to 1:30 p.m., McHugh Commons
Presentation and discussion about how to fundraise for your student organization.

Thursday, November 5 -- Social Mobility & Higher Education
12 noon to 1 p.m., Bemis Lounge
The AppreCCiate Scholarship committee and Sierra Fleenor, Coordinator for Campus Activities, host a discussion with students, staff, and faculty. Brown bag lunch.

Thursday, November 5 -- Thanks-A-Million
5:30 to 9 p.m., WES Room, Worner Center
Volunteer just 30 minutes to help us thank alumni and parents who have supported CC by making a quick phone call or writing a brief note. Don’t forget to enter the drawing!

Friday, November 6 -- Helping HunGRR
12 noon to 1:30 p.m., Perkins Lounge, Worner Center
Donate meals during lunch in Worner this month, and then help pack lunches for the Colorado Springs homeless on November 6th.

Friday, November 6 -- Thanks + Giving: AppreCCiate Scholarship Celebration
5 to 7 p.m., Perkins Lounge, Worner Center
Join in the spirit of Thanksgiving with a fall-themed celebration with live music, cider, and pies. Learn about the mission of the AppreCCiate Scholarship, and hear from students about the importance of financial aid.
