Jacqueline's welcome from the Fall 2007 Newsletter
Turning Over New Leaves
Dear Member,
September marks a season of endings and new beginnings as the wildness and freedom of summer give way to a thoughtful and colorful fall. After a brief respite, the familiar and lively buzz of students and professors has returned; it can only mean one thing: school is back in session.
The 1874 Society is undergoing a similar transition. After the departure of former 1874 Society Coordinator Elizabeth Nelson to graduate studies, we are pleased to welcome Kristin Lynch as the new 1874 Society Coordinator. We are all looking forward to Kristin’s fresh perspective and we are glad to have her on board!
The 1874 Society also experienced another ending, this time on June 30, 2007 when we closed our third fiscal year. Once again, we demonstrated considerable gains, growing to nearly 400 members and raising more than $1 million in unrestricted funds for the college! This could not have been possible without the support and commitment of members like you. Thank you for all that you have done in making the 2006-2007 fiscal year so successful. I look forward to seeing you at a future event, and please take a moment to look at what is on the schedule for this fall and winter. We’re coming to a city near you!
Best wishes,
