Financial Aid Procedures for the 2010-2011 Academic YearALL students who are currently receiving financial aid (*except students receiving only certain merit-based scholarships, athletic scholarships or tuition remission), will be receiving communication from the Financial Aid Office in December regarding their specific application requirements. As part of the specific requirements, all students will need to complete the FAFSA process in the TIMELINE box below when applying or re-applying for financial aid. 1. If you currently do not receive financial aid, or you are applying to receive CC grant aid for the first time, or if you have a One-Year financial aid award, you must complete the 2010-11 PROFILE, the 2010-11 FAFSA, and submit signed 2009 tax forms and W-2 forms. See the instructions below for the full financial aid application process. 2. If you would like us to consider any changes in family circumstances which will impact your family's ability to pay or your current financial aid award, you must submit a Financial Aid Appeal . Please follow the appeal process instructions on our website: http://www.coloradocollege.edu/financialaid/current/Appeals.asp The priority date for completing the requirements to apply for financial aid is March 22 nd which is the Monday after the spring break. It is our goal that students who have completed the Financial Aid application process on time should expect their renewal award or notification of eligibility by mid-May of 2010. *NOTE: Students receiving ONLY a Trustee Scholarship, CC Scholars Award, Presidential Scholarship, Leadership Scholarship, Athletic Scholarship, the Barnes Scholarship, National Merit, International Student Grant, Boettcher Scholarship or Tuition Remission do not need to complete the financial aid process for the upcoming year unless they are requesting federal loans.
Financial Aid Procedures for Returning Students as First Time applicants or One-Year awards or students applying for CC grant aid for the first timeIf you have a One-Year financial aid award or are a first time applicant or you are applying for CC grant aid for the first time, you are required to use the following procedure to apply for financial assistance. This application process must be completed to apply for all types of financial aid at Colorado College. Financial aid is defined as student loans, grants, need-based scholarships, and student employment. To apply for financial aid, Colorado College requires two separate applications: a PROFILE application and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your eligibility for financial assistance will not be determined until we receive all the required documents. Please review the following requirements. Complete the 2010-2011 PROFILE application (our CSS school code is 4072) and submit it to the processor no later than March 22, 2010 . You and your parents (if you are dependent) can apply on-line at www.collegeboard.com . Be sure to keep a copy for your records. If your biological or adoptive parents are no longer living in the same household, your Non-Custodial Parent will be required to complete the Non-Custodial Parent Statement. College Board will e-mail you instructions for completion of the online application to forward to your noncustodial parent (if you include your non-custodial parent's email on the Profile application, College Board can email these instructions directly to your non-custodial parent.) Your non-custodial parent's information will be inaccessible to you and your custodial parent. Complete the 2010-2011 FAFSA electronically after January 1, 2010 but no later than March 22, 2010, through the secure website at www.FAFSA.gov You and your parents can sign the FAFSA electronically online if you already have a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
