Description
Dr. David M. Jones, President and CEO of DMJ Advisors, LLC, a Denver based consulting firm, and Executive Professor of Economics and Finance at Florida Gulf Coast University will present the first lecture in the Economics & Business Department 2013-14 Seminar Series on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2pm in Palmer Hall room 121. His talk is titled "The Federal Reserve and Why it Matters."
Dr. Jones received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. degree with honors from Coe College.He is author of the landmark classic book on Federal Reserve policy, FED WATCHING AND INTEREST-RATE PROJECTIONS: A Practical Guide, published in 1986; THE POLITICS OF MONEY: The Fed Under Alan Greenspan, published in 1991; THE BUCK STARTS HERE: How the Federal Reserve Can Make or Break Your Financial Future, published in 1995; and UNLOCKING THE SECRETS OF THE FED: How Monetary Policy Affects the Economy and Your Wealth-Creation Potential, published by John Wiley & Sons, in 2002. Dr. Jones has been a regular commentator on CNBC, CNN, NIGHTLY BUSINESS REPORT (PBS), and other network and cable TV news shows. He has been featured in SMART MONEY and MONEY magazines.
