Spring Awakening Student Musical Theatre

Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, SPRING AWAKENING is a rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play.

Description

A rock musical based on the controversial 1891 German play by Frank Wedekind which was banned in Germany for many years due to the raw sexual material portrayed. The musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. In the 2006 play, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score. Book & lyrics by Steven Sater; music by Duncan Sheik.
