Description
This talk by Thomas Cohen, curator of Catholic University of America's Oliveira Lima Library in Latin American studies and professor in CU's History Department, explores the early modern Jesuits' perceptions of Jews and New Christians. It suggests the importance of these historical roots for the Second Vatican Council's ecumenism and Jewish-Jesuit collaboration in the American Civil Rights Movement of the mid-twentieth century.
