Description
Women make up approximately 20 percent of our military service personnel. What are the unique challenges that our female soldiers face? A diverse panel of female soldiers will share their own personal stories of war, friendship and daily life. They will also share their unique experiences as members of the Warriors Transition Battalion, as all of these panelists work to provide support for other soldiers, male or female, who are recovering physically and psychologically from the traumas of combat. From the dramatic life-or-death moments in the combat zone, to the more mundane moments of working in a large bureaucracy and struggling to earn advancement in a traditionally "male" profession and striking a balance between work and family life, these women have compelling stories to tell. Jessica Copeland, director of CC's Collaborative for Community Engagement, will moderate. Light refreshments will be served.
