Description
Filmmaker Mark Elliott of Crestone Films will introduce this documentary that follows the life and experiences of a Tibetan Buddhist boy from ages 4 through 18. The child is recognized as the reincarnation (Yangsi) of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, a revered meditation master from Tibet who escaped the Chinese occupation, settled in Bhutan and Nepal, and passed away in 1991. At 18, the young man is expected to assume the responsibilities of a spiritual leader of his tradition. This 82-minute film shows unprecedented access to Yansi’s childhood years and is interspersed with family visits and the transmission of tantric practices by teachers who received them from him in his former life.
