My interest in environmental science stems from my passion for the outdoors and academic interests in environmental chemistry and oceanography. Please see my personal web page for more information.

I grew up in Kansas in a very small farming town where life was very slow and lots of fun. That's where I learned to appreciate nature and what it provided to us. I love Colorado and the beautiful hiking that is available, but my real love is the Pacific Northwest. Particularly the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington. I LOVE sea kayaking around the islands. The Orca whales fascinate me and I hope someday to expand my knowledge of their lives and the problems we humans are creating for them, in order to work with the agencies that are attempting to protect their environment.

I am a native of Colorado and loved every minute of work and play after transferring to CC for my final 2 years of undergrad. I graduated in 2008 with a major from the Environmental Program (Integrated Science) and I am excited to spend some more time with this program and gain some insight into the other side of academia. My love of nature and enthusiasm for all outdoor endeavors is driving me to pursue a life working in, with and for the environment, spending as much time as possible outdoors!
