Colorado College OVAL Project

The following sonograms are frequency spectra for Orca calls that were recorded on San Juan Island in July of 1999. The images show the intensity of three or four harmonic frequencies over time. The vertical axis is frequency (running up to about 8 kHz) and the horizontal axis is time. If you click on an image you will hear a mp3 sound recording that corresponds to each frequency spectrum. (Make sure that you have a mp3 player installed. We have had success using Music Match for the PC which is available on the web.)
