The Woman's Educational Society Lectureship

The WES Lectureship on Women in the West was inaugurated during the 1989-1990 academic year. The lectureship, funded by a long-term endowment from the Woman's Educational Society, expands on the theme of the WES 1989 Centennial -- "Women Helping Women" -- and provides each year for a visiting professor to the campus. The holder of the lectureship can teach a one block course in the area of his or her expertise, delivers a major public lecture for WES and an informal luncheon talk to the Aficionados, a community support group. This lectureship brings to campus scholars in a variety of disciplines.
