Courses: Language including Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced French Literature Francophone/French/Traditional African Cultures, French/Caribbean/Quebec General Studies including socio-political African issues (past and contemporary), Independent readings in French and Wolof (Senegalese dialect).
Dr. Wade's current book project, Mémoires Francophones d'Inchone is in progress and is funded in part through the MacArthur Fellowship. Dr. Wade is the director of the Cultural Studies in Senegal program taught in Senegal.

Courses: French Language and Culture, Spoken French composition, Introduction to Literary Analysis, French Civilization Literature and Film, Independent Readings, topics in French Lituerature and Culture, Genres in French Literature: Fiction in Post-Revolutionary France, Director of the Avignon Program taught in France, One block course taught in Paris: Paris and the Arts Michael O'Riley is Associate Professor of French. He has published over 12 articles in refereed journals such as Mosaic, Romance Notes, The French Review, Dalhousie French Studies, and Romance Languages Annual and has authored Francophone Culture and the Postcolonial Fascination with Ethnic Crimes and Colonial Aura published by Edwin Mellen Press and Postcolonial Haunting and Victimization: Assia Djebar's New Novels, published by Peter Lang New York.
Dr. O'Riley was a recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship at Boston University and was an NEH Fellow at Harvard University in 2000. He is the director of the Study Abroad program in Avignon and the Study French, Italian and the Arts in Paris and Florence. |
