MICHAEL LEON TRUJILLO (PhD Candidate, Texas-Austin)
is a cultural anthropologist who specializes in the ongoing
negotiation of social relations in t he US Southwest. The primary
focus of his doctoral dissertation is current identity formation
among Chicanos in northern New Mexico's Española Valley.
His research interests
include the Southwest Borderlands region, US Latinos, critical
theory, race and ethnicity,
and illicit drug use.
