Keith Reed
Instructor in Bluegrass Banjo, Mandolin, and Guitar
Originally from Idaho, Keith Reed grew up playing bluegrass banjo and guitar with a close-knit group of local traditional-style players. Keith earned an associate of arts degree from South Plains College, known for its bluegrass program, and he also has a bachelors of arts degree in classical studies and classical guitar performance. Keith's exciting mixture of bluegrass fundamentals and composing creativity reflect a traditional sound with his own distinctive mountain edge. His Scruggs-based banjo playing is true to the roots of this music and earns the respect of bluegrass enthusiasts wherever he performs. Cybergrass internet magazine calls Keith a "versatile musician...his abilities on the banjo are fluid and precise." Keith has two critically acclaimed Rounder recordings with Open Road and has toured extensively through the US and Canada. Keith currently lives in Colorado Springs and teaches bluegrass guitar, banjo, mandolin and bluegrass ensemble at Colorado College.
