Colorado College graduates, assuming leadership positions in the 21 st century, will understand the dynamics of the societies of the world and the ways in which the societies interact regionally, globally, politically, economically, and culturally. As undergraduates, the students may major or minor or concentrate in several interdisciplinary area studies.

Asian Studies
Students may major or minor in Asian Studies. A full description of the Asian Studies Program can be found on the Asian Studies website. In support of an Asian Studies interest, students may choose to live in the Japanese/Chinese Language House.Refer as well to the East Asian Languages website.

African Studies
Students may minor in African Studies. The minor is a five-unit (minimum), interdisciplinary approach to the study of Africa that must include at least one unit in Africa and a designated Integrative Experience. Please consult the Colorado College Bulletin Catalog of Courses for a thorough description. Students interested in West Africa may choose to live in the French Language House.
Latin American Studies
Students may minor in Latin American Studies. The minor is a five-unit (minimum) interdisciplinary approach to the study of Latin American civilization. Please consult the Colorado College Bulletin Catalog of Courses for a thorough description. In support of a Latin American Studies interest, students may choose to live in the Spanish Language House.
Mediterranean Studies
The Mediterranean Studies Committee is a fledgling group which first met in the spring of 2004 and is in the process of developing a program. In support of an interest in the Mediterranean Basin, students may choose to live in the French Language House, the Italian Language House, or theSpanish Language House.

Russian and Eurasian Studies
Students may major or minor in Russian and Eurasian Studies. The major is an interdisciplinary program sponsored by the departments of History and German/Russian/East Asian languages. The focus of this program is the close study of the region that stretches from Central and Eastern Europe through the breadth of Russia into Central Asia to northeastern Eurasia. In support of an interest in the Russian language, students may choose to live in the Russian Language House.

South Asian Studies
The South Asian Studies Committee promotes campus programs focusing on South Asia, encourages study abroad in South Asia, and supports the South Asian Student Association. Students may concentrate on South Asia within the Asian Studies minor.
