Cosgrove Summer Research Grants

The Cosgrove Summer Research Grants enable students to travel and conduct research in preperation for their Senior Thesis or Senior Essay. Typically, the Cosgrove Research Grants support student travel to archives and libraries that are substantially distant from the Colorado College, that are inaccessible from Tutt Libary, and require more time than a single block would allow. In order to be awarded a Cosgrove Summer Research Grant, students must submit a research proposal that outlines the student's research project, the necessity for traveling to particular archives, libraries, or other research sites, and a travel budget. Students applying for the Cosgrove Summer Research Grant must submit their grant proposal by 3:00 pm on the first Monday of Block 8. Faculty will evaluate proposals and award grants during Block 8.

Cosgrove Travel Grants

Each History Department faculty member supervising senior research projects is alloted a designated amount of funds to support student travel to conduct research. There are less restrictions to qualify for Faculty Student-Research Funds, but each faculty member has a limited budget to award financial support. Students considering traveling to conduct research should consult with their Senior Thesis/Essay advisor as soon as possible in order to see whether their supervisor can financially support their travel needs.
