Work on this project involves study of marine
terrace sequences along the north central coast
of Chile, with the aim of elucidating the effects
of subduction characteristics on upper plate deformation.
Methods employed in developing terrace chronologies
include amino acid geochronology, Th/U dating
of coral, and Sr isotopic analysis of molluscs. |
