| The Garden House, constructed in 1995 and located 50 feet behind the
German House, serves a variety of purposes. First and foremost, the Garden
House is a high-tech media center with international satellite television,
a multi-format worldwide VCR, hi-fi equipment, and a PC with internet access.
German students often retreat to the Garden House to catch German TV programs,
watch one of the German films in the department's collection
(click
here to learn more about the department's film collection), or study
before an exam. With its own kitchen, the Garden House is the perfect spot
for Kaffeeklatsch during the warmer months of the year. (Kaffeeklatsch
is a weekly social meeting of German students and faculty over tea, coffee,
and food.) |
