A 2000 Milliken Award was made to a graduate of the elementary teacher education program who had, in 1998, been recognized as Colorado's Elementary Principal of the Year.

The 1999 National Principal of the Year completed the secondary science teacher education program at Colorado College.

In 2001, a MAT in Secondary Mathematics graduate received Colorado’s outstanding math teacher award from the Colorado Math Teachers Association.

A MAT in Elementary School graduate received a 1998 Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Science; in 1999, he was named the Distance Learning Teacher of the Year; in 2002, he was honored for the second consecutive year in Who’s Who Among American Teachers and was awarded Teacher of the Year by the Aerospace Education Association.

In 2002, a MAT in Elementary School was a Disney’s American Teacher Awards honoree from more than 185,000 nominees.

In 2003, a MAT in Elementary School was selected as Colorado Science Teacher of the Year.

In 2006, a graduate of the Secondary Science Teacher Education Program won the yearly award for excellence in inquiry-based science teaching from the National Science Teachers Association.

In 2006, a MAT in Elementary School received a Distinguished Teacher Award.

Many graduates have been chosen “Teacher of the Year” in their schools and/or school districts.
