Applicants for admission to the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) must have a (an):

bachelor's degree

cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (recommended)

grade point average of at least 3.2 in the academic major or teaching field (recommended)

strong liberal arts background

academic record indicating potential for successful graduate work and intern teaching

Once the application is completed, the qualified applicant will have a personal or phone interview with the program director. A committee will then review the applicant’s file to determine admission.

MAT enrollment is competitive and selective.

To apply for admission: Download and complete the Admissions Application Complete an Advising Checklist in subject area Submit Praxis II or PLACE Scores (if applicable) Submit four official transcripts from prior college/ university work Download and submit academic Reference Letters Download and submit Reference Letters from those who can attest to successful work with students
