The Director of Education Career Services provides individual counseling, assists with nationwide licensure/certification information, distributes vacancy announcements, communicates and networks with school districts, maintains a job-related reference library, presents interview workshops, counsels students on job application procedures and ethics of the job search, and hosts a local job fair for current students and alums of the teacher education program.

Informational forums on overseas teaching and annual seminars on "Getting the Job" are presented to student teachers. These presentations include how to identify professional and personal strengths; give examples of resumes and cover letters; provide information about writing philosophy and personal statements and professional development and classroom management plans; assist in developing a portfolio; and offer interviewing techniques. Interview and portfolio workshops are also held in the spring.

Students are responsible for keeping their own letters of recommendation; teacher placement files are no longer maintained by the Education Department.
