Portfolio Overview
The Colorado College Investment Club invests real money. The purpose of the club is to give its members an opportunity to practice and use the tools gained from our courses and professors. This real world application serves to strengthen and ingrain our knowledge of economics, markets and finance. The Club also seeks to educate its members as well.
We currently manage two funds:
- CC Investment Club Fund - totaling $24,113.23 (year-end 2006). Our very own portfolio, seeded by generous donations.
- CC Tiger Investments Fund - totaling $51, 844.90 (year-end 2006). We are the fiduciary managers of this portfolio, which is a part of the Schlessman Fund.
Investment Philosophy
- CC Investment Club Fund - Our investment philosophy is a mixture of fundamental and technical analysis for short and long tern investment. The purpose is to provide students with a venue of experimentation. We use this fund to learn from our mistakes before we adopt any strategy for our fiduciary responsibilities. This fund invests in stocks and ETFs and seeks to beat our benchmark, the Russell-1000.
- CC Tiger Investments Fund - Our investment philosophy is one of low-risk long-term investing. We seek to prove that we can manage large amounts of capital well and efficiently. To do this we limit our investment options to only ETFs and rebalance the portfolio quarterly. The same benchmark is the Russell-1000.
