Lecture on Evolution in Insects, read pp 146-170, Borror (Ch. 7&8), and The Origin of Animal Body Plans, and the Showdown on the Burgess Shale.

Keying to orders, read pp 745-789 (Ch. 36), Borror.

Florrisant Fossil Beds Field Trip, read pp 1-23, Borror.

Lecture on Insect Physiology, excluding nervous and endocrine systems. Study for Test I.

Internal Anatomy of a Grasshopper (1:15)

LONG MORNING Film at 9:00 in Library. Lecture on Pesticides and Biological Control. Insect Collections due by noon today. Study for Test II.

Test II (Finish exam by noon today)

Grades will be determined by your two tests and your Insect Collection. Each grade will be 1/3 of your grade.

Also you are required to read one book about insects. Oral reports will be given on the overnight field trip.
