PREFACE
This Faculty Handbook, a statement of current policies and
procedures involving or affecting members of the faculty and to some extent,
administrators at Colorado College, has been approved by the President of the
College, the faculty and the Board of Trustees.
The Handbook describes the policies adopted by the
faculty, procedures and organizational structures established by the
administration, and policies set by the Board of Trustees. The publication of this Handbook should not
be interpreted to imply encroachment upon the traditional prerogatives of the
Colorado College faculty. The faculty
retains the right to change any policy or procedure which falls within its
jurisdiction.
This Handbook is only a working guide for faculty and
administrators at Colorado College, and does not contain the terms of any
employee=s contract with the College. Only a written agreement signed by the
President or the Dean may be relied on as an employment contract.
This Handbook will be revised periodically as new policies
and procedures consistent with the Colorado College by-laws are adopted by
faculty, administration, and trustees.
A copy of the College by-laws is available in the President=s Office.
This Handbook is effective June 1, 1999. It supersedes all prior Faculty Handbooks at
Colorado College, as well as memoranda or letters issued on the same subjects
as those covered in this Handbook.
