Support Services for CBL Classes

The Partnership for Civic Engagement supports faculty who develop and instruct Community Based Learning (CBL) courses. CBL on campus is a collaboartion between the Partnership for Civic Engagement, the Center for Service and Learning, and the Crown Faculty Center. Currently the Partnership offers:

Faculty Development Workshops

Colorado College faculty can hone their skills and techniques in community based learning through workshops facilitated by outstanding faculty leaders from colleges and universities around the country. In addition to the workshops, the Partnership for Civic Engaegment also offers regular strategy sharing sessions for faculty to discuss with their colleagues the challenges and benefits of this work, particularly in the context of Colorado College 's unique block system. Funding is also available for faculty who wish to travel to civic engagement related conferences.

Curriculum Development Grants

For many years, various programs at Colorado College have offered grants to faculty to support the development of new community based learning courses. Currently, the Partnership for Civic Engagement coordinates the funding of CBL grants to faculty engaged in this work. Please contact Sarah Hautzinger to learn about upcoming grant opportunities.
