“We learn from our gardens to deal with the most urgent question of the time: How much is enough?”

Welcome!

The CC Farm is now located behind Stewart House (1228 Wood Avenue) just a few minutes walk from campus. On this 1.3 acre plot we practice organic permaculture gardening techniques, as well as agroforestry, and some animal husbandry. We have nine free range chickens (barred rocks, minorcas, and araucanas) and we sell their eggs to the eight members of our CSA. If you are interested in buying our lovely brown, white, and blue eggs please contact Elise Hellwig to get on the waitlist. Early this summer we put in a small orchard on the upper part of the plot with apple, cherry, peach, plum, and apricot trees. We also planted some raspberries and blackberries, and will plant some asparagus later in the summer. We are currently selling all our produce to our campus food provider Bon Appétit, so look for our vegetables in Rastal! The interns for the summer of 2009 will be at the garden every weekday from 9-5, so  come down and say hello! Scheduled workdays will be held throughout the summer, so check our calendar or the listserve to find out when they are. If you are at all interested in becoming personally involved in our farm through working, being on the farm advisory board, or using the farm as a potential resource for your curriculum, please contact us for further information.
