Position Responsibilities:
Co Chairs (2) Bus Drivers:
-Sets a vision for the ORC and looks to implement it
-Runs weekly meetings (12:15 in the WES Room)
-Oversees and evaluates all outgoing trips
-Addresses areas of risk management and concern
Continuing Education Coordinator(1 senior leader, 1 apprentice) Continuing Ed. Sage:
-Organizes programs (lectures/events0 to further development of existing leaders
-Contributes to the amassing of an ORC curriculum
-Organizes first aid reviews (esp. before FOOT trips)
FOOT Trip Coordinating Team (6) FOOT Trip Food Epicures and Gear Sentries:
-Assists the co-chairs in organizing FOOT Trips
-Organizes food, gear, and paperwork
Hut Trip Guru (2-3) Skiing Craziness:
-Assists the co-chairs in organizing Hut Trips
-Selects routes and huts and makes reservations for the huts
-Organizes gear for the trips
-Must have participated on an ORC Hut Trip before and must have a solid knowledge of avalanche and skiing hazard.
Leadership Training Team (7) Ninja Training Gurus:
-Runs Leadership Training for all aspiring leaders
-Conducts trainings and trips to further the education of aspiring leaders
-Contributes to the amassing of an ORC curriculum
Secretary and Publicity/Advertising(1) Controller of All and Publicity Angel:
-Takes notes during meetings
-Sends meeting minutes to Listserv and posts minutes on the website
-Advertises events and trips to campus
Social Coordinators (2) Choirmaster, Entertainer, Clown, and Official Host:
-Organizes social events for the entire campus with an emphasis on outdoor education
Sustainability Coordinators (3) Computer Dork Specialists:
-Manages the ORC List-Serv
-Manages the ORC Website
-We are also, like, really cool. We seek ways to make the ORC less impactful on our environment. aka: more Eco-Groovy. word.
Treasurer (1) Money Maker and Shaker:
-Works with Co-Chairs and Director of Outdoor Education (Steve Crosby) to manage the budget

-Helps organize the water sports in gener-all....
-Organize the ever exciting westwater trip

The ORC is open to all students, regardless of previous outdoor experience. The ORC meets the first three Tuesdays of every block at 12:15 in the WES Room. All are welcome! |
