Fall 2004
Dear
Thetas,
Another year has begun in the Beta Omega
Kappa Alpha Theta chapter house at Colorado College. The incoming
pledge class has been initiated and new job positions have
been distributed.
I have some ideas on how to strengthen
the relationship between our chapter and alums. I am in the
process of writing bios on all 60 girls in the house. I believe
it is important that you know the new girls who are coming
into the house, as well as the seniors that are leaving the
house when they graduate. I would also love to create a “Theta
Sweetheart” dinner. This would be an event where the
alums are provided dinner for them and their “sweethearts”,
i.e. husband, boyfriend, best friend, etc. While this dinner
is occurring, the active members would be taking care of the
alumnae’s children and providing them with snacks and
activities, etc. If this event is successful, it could spawn
into a once a month activity where the alumnae could drop
off their children at the Theta house for an evening and have
the actives care for them. I would also love to start an “adopt-a-pledge”
program in which the alumnae would “adopt” a new
member and write them letters telling them about their experiences
in Theta and how much they meant, cook them dinner, or any
other type of mentoring activity.
I have many ideas that I will try to turn into activities
to help connect the actives with the alums. I would love to
hear any ideas, comments, or questions you might have, so
please do not hesitate to contact me. Due to the fact that
there are so many Theta alumnae, I have created an email account
specifically for the purpose of corresponding with you. If
you would like to receive further information about the CC
chapter of Theta, please email me at I_Love_Theta@hotmail.com
and let me know so I can contact you in the future.
Thank you so much for your time and I hope that we can build
a stronger relationship in the future to further benefit Theta
and what she stands for.
Theta Love and Mine.
