Campus Initiatives
Never an institution content with stasis, Colorado College maintains a continual charge toward bettering itself as an institution for all members of its community. Looking to our illustrious past as a guide and our future as an opportunity, we at Colorado College are proud of the initiatives we've taken and look forward to their implementation in the months and years to come.
Collaborative for Community Engagement
Integrates public work into an environment of academic scholarship, seeking to promote common good and cultivate a communal sense of larger social responsibility and community engagement on our campus.
Long-Range Development Program
Aims to provide the college with a framework for future planning, design, and development decisions that boost its unique culture, academic program, and strategic vision. This program encompasses all aspects of Colorado College and looks toward the improvement of our campus for decades to come.
State of the Rockies Project
Seeks to improve the understanding of vital issues affecting the Rocky Mountains. The State of the Rockies project offers all members of the CC community the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art research to help Rockies residents clearly understand our communities, environment, and economy and be better informed to shape the future of the region.
Public Interest Fellowship Program
Provides CC students with access to meaningful internship positions at nonprofits within the region, ranging from government offices to education causes. The program provides opportunities for CC students and recent graduates to pursue meaningful work with public interest nonprofit organizations, thereby increasing the capacity of those organizations and fostering a new generation of nonprofit leaders.
Sustainability
Given our location at the heart of the Rocky Mountain region, Colorado College takes immense pride in being a campus committed to maintaining and improving a culture of sustainability. Sustainability at CC challenges students, faculty, and staff to individually and collectively develop "green" habits that will last throughout their lives. While honoring our commitment to nurturing a sense of place and an ethic of environmentalism, CC sustainability aims to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the college.
