Tutt Library on a beautiful day.

Tutt Library

During fourth week, when everyone seems to be cramming for a final, Student Activities passes out snacks to keep spirits up, and the main atrium of the library fills with the hopeful murmurs of students making last-minute block break plans.

The library has three floors of spacious tables, study rooms, and comfy couches that you can nestle into when studying for exams or writing papers.

Tutt offers more than half a million volumes, the most comprehensive selection of geological survey maps in the region, and an extensive database for newspaper archives and online journals. If you're having trouble writing a paper, you can visit the Writing Center, where tutors will help you edit your work. Although Tutt is a great place to go if you need a quiet, distraction-free study space, it's hard to feel too isolated there. The library was designed to have a large, central atrium, so from most tables you can see, and develop a sense of solidarity with, other students hard at work.
