CC community volunteers, including students, alumni, parents and friends, packed lunches for the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Group to distribute to the Colorado Springs homeless. Everyone was invited to decorate sack lunch bags, make sandwiches, and pack meals which were distributed to local shelters downtown. Prior to the event CC students donated 250 of their meal plan meals to provide all of the food.

Parents were a large part of making this event happen. Whether they stopped by for a few minutes to make a couple of sandwiches, or stayed the entire time, we could not have done it without their participation and help.

We had two tables set-up for decorating and making cards. Everyone really got into coloring and we had some extremely creative lunch sacks at the end!

Susan Richards, parent of Kyle Sally '07, started by decorating a sack and card, then moved on to fill it with a sandwich, fruit, cookies, and a bottled water.

Homecoming president ,Isabel Werner '08 (right), and several other members worked hard at the peanutbutter and jelly table!

The finished products! Colorful lunches filled with food and a note inside from all of the people who worked to put them together.
