Sharon Young is owner and CEO of Versitech, Inc., a Tucson, Arizona-based
metallurgical consulting service that recently realized multi-million
dollar annual sales by commercializing its patented system for copper
and molybdenum recovery in the mining industry. The system uses renewable
resources, improves recovery, and reduces energy use, air pollution and
costs. Sharon was the first female president of Wire Association International,
the global network for wire and cable professionals; is a member of the
American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers; the
Minerals, Metals and Materials Society; the Mining and Metallurgical Society
of America; and is a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and
Metallurgy. She has coauthored numerous technical papers and seven patents.
