Ann Hunt Hieronymus '50Ann Hunt Hieronymus arrived at Colorado College as a student in the fall of 1945. But she was already a part of the CC family. Ann learned early that CC is a special place. And she learned that you always give back to the institutions and people who impact your life. One of five children of E. Vaiden Hunt, who attended CC as a married man during the depression, she got to learn about the college "at her father's knee," watching Shove Chapel rise, visiting fraternity houses during homecoming, living in the nearby north end neighborhood that made the college their playground. Her brother Forest and sisters June Hunt Gray and Jane Hunt Wiley all followed their father as students at CC. Ann has volunteered more than 10,000 hours at the alumni house. She provides the first welcome to alumni visitors and keeps alumni who return for Homecoming pointed in the right direction to find classmates. When seniors are heading into graduation weekend, they pick up their commencement luncheon and dance tickets from Ann, but they get more -- a short lesson on the importance of staying in touch and involved through the alumni association. Nearly every invitation alumni have received in the past ten years has been labled by Ann. Newspapers are scoured for tidbits of news about alumni of the college. Ann is quick to share her vast knowledgeable about Colorado College and Colorado Springs history. |
