Jule Hutchinson Haney '39
Colorado
College alumni find a myriad of ways to stay in touch and involved. Jule
Haney has helped her classmates do just that. They must be dear to her
for she has devoted countless hours in planning all six of their class
reunions. she says that Lorena Berger, then Alumni Relations director,
told her that her job as permanent class secretary was to plan class reunions,
so she did. Jule's scrapbooks form a fascinating history of Class of 1939
activities. Her most recent task was to chair the committee that planned
the 50th reunion for her class and to serve on the development committee
for reunion giving. As was expected, the reunion was a smashing success.
Throughout Jule's life working and raising a family, she has always managed
to stay in touch with classmates, to take on a multitude of tasks. For
several years, Jule served as a class agent. In recent years she has been
important in the growth of an active Colorado Springs Alumni Club, serving
on its board. she has worked on the Club's planning retreat, their Christmas
party, the committee to organize the annual Forum dinner, and spent two
hears chairing the "Lunch Bunch" committee. In addition, Jule
has spent countless hours on the Tutt House Committee, advising and helping
to acquire furnishings for the alumni house. she is also a member of "Friends
of the Library." While carrying on these activities Jule notes that
she returned to school to earn her master's degree when a grandmother.
Through the years Jule has been active in the Junior League, has served
as president of the Tuesday Luncheon Club, and is currently treasurer
of the Women's Literary Club. And in everything she does, Jule proves
that all tasks can be completed with grace and style.
