The best way to get to know the Colorado College community is by visiting our campus. Since 8 out of 10 CC students are from outside the state of Colorado, we know that paying for travel expenses can be financially challenging for many prospective students and their families but we are willing to help you pay for a campus visit.
As a community, we seek to learn from the diverse experiences and perspectives of all students and if you share our values, we invite you to request funding to visit Colorado College. We award travel grants to seniors who have lived by these values and demonstrate this same commitment in their own communities. In particular, we encourage members of American Ethnic Minority groups, students who are the first in their families to attend college and students from low income families to request funding.
Seniors can submit a request for funding by completing an online Travel Grant Application. Requests for funding are considered only if you can visit during one of three "open house" events that we are offering this fall. The dates are:
1. Fall Open House 1: September 14 - 15. Application Deadline: August 25th
Fall open house activities include a class visit, panels for parents, lunch, campus tours, panels for students and information sessions on admission and financial aid. In addition, you will have a chance to meet members of our community at dinner featuring a guest speaker and a discussion on multiculturalism.
2. Fall Open House 2: October 12 - 13. Application Deadline: September 19th
Fall open house activities include a class visit, panels for parents, lunch, campus tours, panels for students and information sessions on admission and financial aid. In addition, you will have a chance to meet members of our community at dinner featuring a guest speaker and a discussion on multiculturalism.
3. Multicultural Open House: November 6-8. Application Deadline: October 15th
The Multicultural Open House program is designed to give you and your parents an inside look at student life at Colorado College. Over the course of the weekend, you will have a chance to:
- Take a campus tour and visit a class
- Stay overnight on campus with a CC student host
- Participate in an admission interview and financial aid workshop
- Experience a variety of academic, cultural, and extra-curricular events
- Attend a CC hockey game
Due to limited space and funding, requests for travel grants must be submitted online or mailed and postmarked no later than the application deadline. If we approve your request, Colorado College will pay your transportation expenses up to $500. If you travel with one or both of your parents, we offer an additional subsidy for their transportation expenses up to $500 and provide complimentary accommodations at a nearby hotel.
