Mark J. Hatch |
With his long career as both an admission professional and a college counselor, Mark is the fearless hockey-playing leader of CC’s admission and financial aid staff. Prior to joining CC in 2001, Mark earned a B.A. in psychology from Bates College and an Ed.M. from Harvard University. After working as an assistant dean of admission at Bates, Mark moved west and served as a college counselor and teacher at Harvard-Westlake School and Marlborough School in Los Angeles and then director of admission at Occidental College. |

Roberto A. Garcia |
Alaska, Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island A first-generation college student, Roberto was born in south Texas and went on to graduate from Princeton University with a degree in sociology and obtained an Ed.M. from Harvard University. Before returning to Princeton to begin a career in admission, he served as an officer in the Marine Corps for five years. Today, he coordinates the overall operations of the admission office and keeps us updated with the previous evening’s Colorado Rockies performance. |

Belinda Armstrong ‘06 |
Colorado Territory: Colorado Springs Illinois and Europe Belinda grew up in a military family, moving around before her parents settled in Colorado Springs, where she attended Mitchell High School and then went on to earn her degree in English at Colorado College. After graduation, she spent some time writing and traveling, returned to CC to earn a master of arts in teaching, and spent three years teaching high school English. In her free time, Belinda can be found hiking, practicing martial arts, or writing. Her admission responsibilities include working with merit scholarship recipients, assisting with print and electronic communications, and international recruitment. |

Matt Bonser ‘98 |
Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, International Matt spent his early years in southern California, but he claims to have grown up in Portland, Oregon, where he attended the Catlin Gabel School. A graduate of CC with a degree in political science and Spanish, he has been on the admission staff since 1998. Matt serves as systems manager for our database, but he still finds plenty of time to get out from behind a computer screen to coordinate international recruitment and camp and hike with his family. |

Nathan Eberhart ‘11 |
Colorado Territory: I-70 Corridor and Northwestern CO Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Latin America A Colorado Springs local, Nathan initially attended college at a peer liberal arts institution on the West Coast. After realizing a deeper sense of belonging to his hometown alma mater, he transferred to Colorado College his sophomore year, where he received a degree in romance languages with a minor in anthropology in 2011. Nathan studied French in Provence, worked as a professional Spanish translator, and began his career in admission as a student fellow. He enjoys photography, ceramic arts, gardening, backpacking, and performing with the college’s Mariachi band. Many revere him for his culinary wizardry. Nathan’s responsibilities include coordinating overnight hosting as well as assisting with international and transfer student admission. |

Blake Hammond ‘09 |
Colorado Territory: Denver Public Schools Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia A Colorado Springs native and Wasson High School graduate, Blake graduated from CC in 2009 with a degree in political science and a minor in American history. After graduation, Blake joined Teach for America, teaching fourth grade math in the Mississippi Delta while also serving as a mentor for other corps members. When he’s not spending time being an active uncle to his niece and nephew or outdoors with friends, Blake’s responsibilities include assisting athletes and focusing on American ethnic minority recruitment. |

Anna Jaquez-Herron ‘01 |
Colorado Territory: Pueblo and Southern Colorado Arizona, New Mexico Growing up in Pueblo, CO, Anna earned her degree in biology while working in the CC financial aid office as a student. She now divides her time between admission and financial aid, counseling students, and overseeing several of our outreach and scholarship programs. In her spare time, Anna is a professional photographer and a talented tamale maker. |

Kari Kwinn '03 |
Kari was born and raised in Fort Collins, CO, where she attended Fort Collins High School. In 2003, Kari graduated from CC with a B.A. in anthropology and later completed a master’s in nonprofit management program at Regis University. After four years working for health-related nonprofit organizations, Kari returned to her alma mater to coordinate the alumni admission volunteer program. |

Amy Lareau |
Colorado Territory: Durango, Grand Junction, Western Slope New Hampshire, Maine, Western Massachusetts, Vermont A Westborough, Massachusetts native, Amy received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Bates College where she sang a cappella, taught English as a second language, and worked as a student admission fellow and summer interviewer in the Bates admission office. Before joining us at Colorado College in the summer of 2010, Amy lived in the Adirondacks where she was an admission counselor at Paul Smith’s College. Now officially a Rocky Mountain resident with flourishing garden and theatrical performances to write home about, Amy coordinates student tour guides, multicultural open house, group visit programs, and serves as a member of our communications team. |

Melissa Lustig |
Colorado Territory: Aurora, Denver Metro, Douglas and Jefferson Counties Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania Melissa grew up in Greenwood Village and graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1998 before attending Wellesley College, where she earned a double major in history and English. With her intentions set on a career in admission, she obtained her M.A. in higher education administration from the University of Michigan. She worked in admission at Ursinus College for three years prior to joining CC in the summer of 2004. In addition to juggling open house programs, student interns and telerecruiters, serving as faculty liaison, and involvement with CC Hillel/Chaverim, Melissa spends her time rock climbing, scuba diving, skiing, and gardening. |

Jessica J. Raab |
Colorado Territory: Colorado Springs Northern California, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Maryland, Virginia Although Jessica was born in Salt Lake City, she grew up in Littleton and considers Colorado her home, having lived here most of her life. Jessica graduated from the College of William and Mary with a degree in Spanish and psychology. She began her professional career in admission at Carleton, but has been at CC since 1995. When she’s not trail running with Sydney, her exuberant dog, or finding ways to make a difference in the community, Jessica’s responsibilities include oversight of transfer and special student status admission. |

Sara Springer ’04 |
Colorado Territory: Cherry Creek Southern California, Eastern Massachusetts After attending Sabino High School in Tucson, AZ, Sara graduated from CC in 2004 with a degree in English. She spent several years away from campus after graduation, worked in corporate event planning, and completed a master's degree in higher education and student development at the University of Denver. After working for the Hampshire College admission office, Sara joined the admission staff in 2010. When she's not doing yoga or running the Colorado Springs trail system, Sara's responsibilities include working with alumni volunteers and print communications. |

Mariegrace Veres ’11 |
Colorado Territory: Denver Public Schools China, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri Mariegrace graduated from Colorado College in 2011 with a B.A in international political economy with a minor in journalism. During her time at CC, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Chile. She has a strong love for community service and spent her spring breaks traveling to Chicago and New Orleans to serve in those communities. When Mariegrace is not playing sports, camping, or volunteering at a Filipino heritage camp, her responsibilities include working with multicultural and international student recruitment, oncampus programs, and serving as a liaison to Summer Session. |

Ashleigh Willis ‘11 |
Colorado Territory: Boulder, Fort Collins, Northern Colorado Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ashleigh dropped her natural accent for an American one when she moved to Atlanta in 1999. Soon after, she moved to Colorado Springs with her family, where she graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 2007. Not willing to leave the beautiful new home she had found in Colorado Springs, she chose to attend Colorado College, graduating in 2011 with a degree in English. When she’s not watching “How I Met Your Mother” or playing the flute, Ashleigh assists with open house programs, alumni volunteers, and communications. |
