Scholarships
Each year Colorado College awards scholarships to foreign students (non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. permanent residents) enrolling in the fall. While we evaluate the amount each family can contribute toward expenses, each scholarship award accounts for tuition, housing, meals, health insurance, books, personal expenses and transportation to and from a student's home country. Typical awards include up to $2,000 in institutional work study (campus job). The scholarship is renewed every year, up to four consecutive years, until graduation. 76% of admitted international students were offered need-based financial assistance, ranging from $7,000 to $51,600. The average need-based international student grant was $39,171. Over 1.9 million dollars was offered to international students in need-based or merit-based assistance.
Applying
Prospective international students who wish to apply for financial aid
should indicate that on their application (the application specifically
asks if you will be applying for financial aid). All financial aid applicants
must also complete the College Board's International
Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) and Certification
of Finances (COF) and return it with their application. Please write
your FAX number and/or e-mail address, if available, on your financial
aid application to enable easier communication with you. Both admission
and financial aid decisions are mailed by the first week of April.
Eligibility
It is very important that the ISFAA and COF forms be filled out completely and
accurately. The information you provide will determine whether you need a full
scholarship or only a partial grant of up to half tuition. If these forms indicate
you need a full scholarship and you are not awarded one, you will not be reconsidered
for a partial grant. All full scholarship applicants MUST take the SAT I or
ACT and, when applicable, TOEFL exams. Only PRC applicants will be granted a
waiver -- PRC applicants MUST submit GRE scores instead. Students who have received
an undergraduate degree from any college or university, will not be eligible
for financial aid from Colorado College.
Other Scholarships
Except for division 1 Men's Hockey and Women's Soccer, no athletic or other
scholarships are offered to non-US citizens at Colorado College. Unfortunately,
we have no knowledge of any other outside scholarships sources either. We encourage
you to do your own research to find additional sources of aid.
Application Fee Waivers
If your family income is extremely small, you may request an application
fee waiver online.
