Admitted Transfer Students

Welcome to Colorado College! We're pleased that you've decided to continue your education here. A CC education is a joint partnership between you and the college. As a new transfer student, we recognize that while you may be new to Colorado College, you are not new to the college experience. We also recognize that the most active person in your education must be you.

A word from the Deans

You have chosen to study at a college committed to education offered in the liberal arts tradition. In his convocation address to the class of 1969, former Colorado College president Lloyd Edson Worner attempted to define the essence of a liberal arts education. He said, “What is a liberal arts college? ... Our studies are aimed primarily at providing general knowledge and at developing general intellectual capacities. Ideally, the result is the creation of a base from which one will move into a meaningful life, liberated from fear and ignorance, so that one can participate significantly in the community in which he lives and functions….”

We want you to participate significantly in this community, as well as the communities you will join as you move forward. The values that shape and ground the Colorado College community include respect, integrity, responsibility, community, and fairness. So, we care about the choices you make and how they correspond to these values. We recognize that learning occurs inside and outside the classroom. We hope that you will make good choices about alcohol, relationships, activities, and the role and impact they have in your life and on this community.

As the two associate deans of students, we are primarily interested in the well being and educational experiences of each of our students. We are available to meet and talk about your interests, your questions, and how to make the most of your Colorado College education. At the end of the day, you will be responsible and accountable for your choices, your learning, and your experiences at Colorado College. We look forward to what you have to offer us, as much as we hope you will engage fully with what we have to offer you.
