You're Invited
Congratulations on
your admission
to
Colorado College!
We are delighted to welcome you into our community and to invite you to our campus. Some students feel that the best way to make the college decision is to visit the school. We have, therefore, put together a series of programs and a hosted stay to allow you to get what we hope will be a good picture of CC life.
Colorado College is a unique place. We hope that
you will take this opportunity to fully investigate
what we offer. By participating in a wide variety of
activities and meeting a diverse group of individuals,
you can best experience our community.
Students are encouraged to stay overnight on Thursday night and will be hosted by a current student on campus. However, overnight visits will not be possible on Friday night. Please refer to the listing of hotels found on our Web site.
The program includes an opportunity to experience a class on the Block Plan. Due to class size limitations, we ask you to choose a general area of study rather than a specific department. While we will do our best to put you in your first choice class, this will not always be possible. Keep in mind that you will have a chance to speak to departmental representatives at the departmental fair. If you cannot make that fair, you can always stop by a specific department and speak with someone.
While we have planned many events, if you
would like a one-on-one session with a faculty
member, administrator, or financial aid counselor,
please make an appointment directly. Please call for
an appointment at least one week in advance.
We hope that you choose to visit CC and that you have an enjoyable and informative stay.
Open House Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my parents?
Sure! We even have several events planned
specifically for parents. A list of hotels can be
found online at www.coloradocollege.edu/admission/visiting/hotels.asp. When making
reservations, please ask for the Colorado College
admission open house rate, as some hotels have set
aside rooms in advance.
How do I
register for the
weekend?
Registration is now closed. If you would like consideration for a late RSVP, please email admission@coloradocollege.edu.
What do I do when I arrive?
Please check in at the registration table in Perkins
Lounge in Worner Center between 12 p.m. and 5
p.m. on Thursday. We will give you a packet with all
the information you need for the weekend. We will
match visitors and hosts at 5 p.m. and again at 9 p.m.
If you arrive after 9 p.m., the Worner Desk should
have your information packet for you. If you are
arriving on Friday, the registration table will be open
between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. If you arrive after this
time, please come to the admission office in Cutler
Hall.
What should
I bring?
Please bring
a sleeping bag,
pillow, and towel.
You will likely be
sleeping on the
floor, as most
students do
not have extra beds. Be sure to pack comfortable
clothes, as the weekend is informal. Comfortable
shoes are a must. Colorado weather in April is
extremely variable, so be prepared for anything
from 70 degrees and sunny to snow. All meals and
events are free; however, if you want to buy CC
souvenirs, shop downtown, or order snacks,
remember to bring some extra spending money.
What if I can’t make either program?
Come and visit another time. You will need to
call and make reservations at least two weeks in
advance. We can schedule an information session,
a tour, class visit, and perhaps an overnight stay.
This is still an effective way to see the campus, but
our special programming is scheduled for these two
programs. Our students will be taking finals
and will be on block break the week of
April 14, so please try to avoid this time,
as we will be unable to provide hosts or
class visits. Please call (719) 389-6344 or (800) 542-7214 for more information or to make
a reservation for an alternate visit time.
What if I can’t visit at all?
If you have questions, feel free to call and ask
for an admission officer or visit our Web site. Most professors
have contact information available on the Web site.
Students are also available to answer questions; just
call (800) 542-7214 and let us know if you would
like to speak to someone.
