I am a junior at CC this year, majoring in International Political Economy. I graduated from Boulder High School in 2006. Last year, I had the opportunity to go abroad twice, spending a block in Chile studying under a famous Chilean author and completing a six month semester at Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora in Brazil learning Portuguese. My research focuses mainly on Latin America, and I intend to study immigration law; upon graduation, I plan to spend a year living in Chile working as a research assistant for one of my professors before heading off to law school.

As an El Pomar Scholar, I spend a great deal of time volunteering. I enjoy working with children and am a co-leader for Early Birds Mentoring Program, providing early morning tutoring, reading and enrichment services to students at Bristol Elementary. In addition, I led a BreakOut (community service) trip of 11 students to the Santa Fe Boys and Girls Club during third block break. Wanting to explore law as a career option, I started a volunteer internship at the District Attorney’s Office this year, serving as a Victims’ Advocate for misdemeanor domestic violence cases.
