Our Faculty

Colorado College's 10:1 student to faculty ratio ensures that professors and pupils have the privilege of face-to-face interaction and in-class discussion. Of CC's 168 full-time professors, 96% hold the highest degree in their field.

Because they only teach one course at a time, CC professors are available to encourage and assist individual students in their endeavors. As a result, our faculty are able to expect a special degree of academic independence, and students have room to flourish. Creative writing majors are respected as poets, math students as mathematicians, and sociology majors as social scientists.

Students say . . .

"Brilliant, dynamic, quirky professors are the heart and soul of Colorado College. Five days a week, they're with you - teaching, pushing, and asking more of you than you thought possible. CC professors, I thank you for generously sharing your wisdom, lunch hours, weekends, - even your side of potato chips - with me. You have taught me, inspired me, and somehow managed to preserve my sanity. Job well done."

"Taking Teaching Through the Arts during Block 8 of the school year is not an easy task, but when it's with a professor like Kris Stanec, it's worth it. Led by our fearless instructor into the terrifying world of small children who need to learn things, we squeezed off-campus teaching days into our planners and prepared to have our paradigms shattered. It's the solid truth: the professor makes the experience. That class was the capstone of my year, and it was a fantastic course because our professor helped build and nourish a community between all of us."
