Performance Design Minor

Requirements

Design minors must complete a minimum of 6.5 units: The minor in design consists of 5 units plus .25 unit of crew work, and one integrative project worth one unit.

  • 3 Units of Core Courses: DR 110 Fundamentals of Performance Design, one 200-level design course (set design, costume design, or lighting design), and one of the following courses in art history and theory: AH 111 History of Architecture, AH 112 Introduction to Art History, GS 112 Visual Culture
  • 2 Units of Electives: Topics Courses in Design (DR 200 and DR 300) , Film (FS 212 Basic Filmmaking and FS 205 Topics in Cinema), Art Studio (AS 103, 111, 114, or AS 216), Media Studies (GS 222 Games, Aesthetics, and Culture)
  • .50 Units in Technical Theatre: DR 101 Stagecraft Practicum (2 blocks, .5 units) or DR 212-215 Theatre Studio (.25 units each)
  • 1 unit Integrative Project: DR 404 Senior Thesis or as part of course approved by the faculty
