Mission
The Race and Ethnic Studies program at Colorado College promotes student interest and faculty scholarship aimed at understanding the meaning, nature, and enduring significance of race. The faculty strongly believes that responsible and informed citizenship entails:
- Rigorous and critical understanding of historical and contemporary relationships among historically marginalized ethnic/racial groups
- Proficiency with the various theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of race and ethnicity
- A commitment to social justice
